What is padel?
Padel is a racket sport usually played in doubles on an enclosed court smaller than a tennis court. Glass walls form part of the game, allowing rallies to continue after the ball rebounds from them.

Basic padel play
The court
A standard doubles court measures 20 × 10 metres, enclosed by walls and mesh. The net is 88 cm high at its centre.
Scoring
The familiar point sequence is 15, 30, 40 and game. Matches are organised into games and sets; ask your club which scoring format applies.
Serving
The serve is made after bouncing the ball, with contact at or below waist height, diagonally into the receiving service box.
Using the walls
Once the ball has bounced on your side, it can rebound from the wall before you return it. Learning this timing is an important part of the game.
